MayGion has released two types of ipcam(until 09.27.2011):

1. use winbond(arm) cpu chip(from 2008.03 to 2011.03)
2. use mips cpu chip(start from 2011.04)

This document describe the steps to upgrade mips ipcam firmware.

• How to check my ipcam is winbond or mips hardware
  

  open ipcam>Control Panel>System Information,if software/hardware has version like "oem mips(date)",your ipcam should be mips hardware.Otherwise,your ipcam should be winbond ipcam.
  

  If your ipcam is already corrupt and can't open web pages,you can check the size of /tmp/eye/app/cs in CuteFTP, if the size of "cs" is bigger than 400KB,it should be mips ipcam,otherewise it should be winbond ipcam.
  

  Even worse,if you have delete all files in /tmp/eye/app or /tmp/eye/www by ftp,it does not matter.
  Just try to upload mips firmware to check whether it is work,if not,try to upload winbond firmware.
  Upload wrong firmware by ftp will NOT corrupt ipcam,it always can be find by IPCamRepair tool
  

• How to find and repair my ipcam

When IP Camera power on,it first execute an app called loader,this loader give us a chance to repair corrupt firmware.
Make sure your router's IP is 192.168.1.1 and your PC'ip is 192.168.1.3,both netmask is 255.255.255.0 as normal. Run IPCamRepair.exe on your PC and power ipcamera on.

After ipcam connect to IPCamRepair.exe,it looks like following:

In this case,you can visit ipcam by ftp client(suggest use cuteftp 6.0 professional)
ftp user:MayGion
ftp password:maygion.com
Both user and password are case sensitive.



Upload app and www folder to /tmp/eye


Warning:

• You can only modify files in /tmp/eye/app and /tmp/eye/www
• Please do NOT change any other files,otherwise ipcam maybe damage and software repair will be impossible.

After upload app and www folder,close IPCamRepair.exe.
ipcam will reboot automatically and IPCamTool should be able to find it.
